10 Best Things to do in Green Bay in Winter

Let me take you through some of the unmissable and most fun things I love to do in Green Bay during winter.
Green Bay is an adorable city that I’ve come to know and love, especially for its legendary NFL team, the Green Bay Packers. When I first arrived here, Lambeau Field and the vibrant Titletown were at the top of my must-see list. But after spending more time in Green Bay during the colder months, I discovered that there are so many other amazing activities, both indoors and outdoors, that make winter here truly special.
From cross-country skiing and snowmobiling to beer tastings and cozy dinners, I’ve found plenty of incredible things to do in Green Bay in winter. Read on to discover my favorite attractions and activities that are sure to keep you entertained all season long.

Things to do in Green Bay in Winter
1. Go Cross Country Skiing at Brown County Reforestation Camp
One of my favorite places to go cross-country skiing in Green Bay is the Brown County Reforestation Camp. With miles of scenic and well-groomed trails, this spot offers an excellent skiing experience for all ability levels.
If skiing isn’t really your thing, don’t worry, you can still enjoy plenty of other wonderful winter activities at the camp. I’ve tried snowshoeing, snowmobiling, winter hiking, and even biking here, and each experience is just as memorable. The views throughout the Brown County Reforestation Camp are absolutely stunning, making it feel like you’ve stepped right into a winter wonderland.
2. Visit Titletown District for Skating Rink and Tubing Hill
For indulging in fantastic winter activities, make sure to visit the Titletown district in Green Bay. This lively entertainment area is located just west of Lambeau Field, and it always has something exciting going on. From hill tubing and ice skating to live music, themed nights, light shows, and even more fun events, Titletown has so much to offer.
One of my favorite thrills is grabbing a tube and riding down Ariens Hill. It’s a must-do for anyone who loves a bit of adventure. I also love spending time at the Titletown ice rink, which is perfect for enjoying ice skating with family or friends. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair at the Admissions building next to Ariens Hill. If you’re looking to try something different, there are even ice bike rentals available during the winter months.
If you’re visiting Green Bay for the first time, I recommend taking a stadium tour of the legendary Lambeau Field near Titletown and checking out the Packers Hall of Fame. For more Packers history, you can also take a Segway tour of the Packer Heritage Trail and learn about the team’s early years, definitely one of the best experiences for any Packers fan.
For me, spending a day in Titletown enjoying all these delightful winter activities is truly one of the most unmissable things to do in Green Bay in winter.
3. Spend a day at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary
The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is one of my favorite places to experience a stunning variety of urban wildlife in Green Bay. As the second largest wildlife rehabilitation program in Wisconsin, this 700-acre sanctuary offers me countless opportunities for winter activities like cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing.
There are entertaining festive events hosted at the sanctuary during the winter months. Bird watching here is truly fascinating, and I find it to be one of the most memorable things to do in Green Bay during winter.
If you’re planning a ski adventure here, just remember to bring your own ski equipment, as rentals aren’t available at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
4. Watch a show at the Historic Meyer Theatre
For some cozy indoor entertainment, I love visiting the Meyer Theatre to catch a performance, musical show, or comedy act. This iconic 1,011-seat theater hosts many original, world-class productions, and every time I’m there, I can’t help but admire its beautiful architecture and exquisite interior. The history of the Meyer Theatre goes all the way back to the 1930s, and it was lovingly restored in 2002, which really adds to its charm.
If you’re visiting Green Bay for the first time, I highly recommend experiencing a live performance or simply stopping by the Meyer Theatre to admire its restored design. It’s definitely one of the top things to do in Green Bay and a true highlight for anyone who appreciates arts and culture.
5. Take a Beer Tasting tour at Badger State Brewing Company
If you’re a beer lover, you should definitely consider taking a beer tasting tour at Badger State Brewing Company. This award-winning destination brewery is one of the best independent breweries you’ll find in Green Bay.
At the brewery, you can sample around 24 different Wisconsin-brewed beers. And if you have a companion who doesn’t prefer alcoholic drinks, don’t worry, the brewery also serves a variety of non-alcoholic beverages sourced from local Wisconsin establishments.
Badger State Brewing Company often features food trucks and live music events, which can make your visit even more enjoyable. Be sure to check their events calendar before you go. If you’re looking for a fun and memorable winter activity in Green Bay, beer tasting at Badger State Brewing Company is definitely one you shouldn’t miss.
6. Spend a weekend at Lodge Kohler
If you’re looking for a relaxing staycation filled with luxurious amenities, you should consider booking a stay at Lodge Kohler. Many of the rooms here face Lambeau Field, so you have the chance to soak up the Packers action even if you’re not sitting in the stadium stands.

Keep in mind, ice fishing is usually more challenging than regular fishing, so it’s a good idea to book a guided ice fishing trip for the best experience.
Icefish Green Bay offers excellent guided ice fishing experiences on the bay. If you want to try something different this winter, ice fishing in Green Bay is definitely an activity you won’t want to miss.
8. Try your luck at Oneida Casino
Looking for some fun indoors? If you feel that luck is on your side, you should try a casino outing at Oneida Casino in Green Bay. Here, you’ll find thousands of slot machines, popular gaming tables, a poker room, and a bingo hall, so there’s always something exciting to try.
Located inside the Radisson Hotel, this casino also features eight dine-in restaurants and is the official casino of the Green Bay Packers. The gambling and gaming options here are fantastic, making it a must-visit for an enjoyable night out during the winter in Green Bay.
9. Dine in at a Cozy Restaurant
There are quite a few restaurants in Green Bay, where you can warm yourselves up around a fireplace while enjoying some great food. River’s Bend, Mackinaw’s Grill & Spirits and Plae Bistro are our favourite picks for having a delightful meal aside the warmth of a fireplace.
If you are looking for live entertainment too, Anduzzi’s Sports Club fills in the place with its warm and welcoming ambiance for brunches and dine-ins during winters.
10. Enjoy A Fun Packed Day At Edge VR Arcade
Edge VR Arcade is the place to be for the ones who enjoy virtual reality gaming experiences. This gaming arcade has a range of games sessions that are suitable for visitors of all age groups (age 13 and above). Whether you are thrill seeker or a casual gamer, you will find a wide variety of games to choose from.
Edge VR Arcade has a restaurant that serves refreshments and meals. This indoor gaming arcade is a must for an exciting day out with friends and family during winters.
Where to Stay in Green Bay
Here are some of my top hotel suggestions if you’re looking for comfortable accommodations in Green Bay:
Budget (Under $60): When you want to save on lodging, you will like staying at Baymont by Wyndham. It’s affordable, offers great facilities, and its central location means I’m close to all the main attractions and malls.
Mid Range (up to $100): If you are looking for something a bit more stylish, SpringHill Suites is a fantastic choice. The rooms are modern and comfortable, and it’s less than a ten-minute walk from Lambeau Field. You can also enjoy the hotel’s swimming pool, hot tub, and fitness center.
Luxury ($200+): For a truly luxurious stay, Lodge Kohler is always my first choice in Green Bay. I have also stayed at Hotel Northland, Autograph Collection by Marriott. This hotel is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and its interiors have a charming vintage vibe. The boutique-style rooms at Hotel Northland are elegant, comfortable, and perfect for a special getaway.
