15 Incredible Things To Do In Dubai
(This article has affiliate links to products which we may make commission from at no extra cost to you.)
I have grown up in Dubai and witnessed the city thrive. Highly progressive, it feels different every time you visit. From sparkling skyscrapers and distinctive arts to expansive deserts, stunning landscapes, breathtaking beaches, thrilling adventures, diverse dining, beautiful parks, theme parks, luxurious experiences, and ongoing events, Dubai sets the standard in every category.
Dubai feels like a breath of fresh air, and I can’t get enough of it. Plus, it is safe. I can walk around at night on my own without feeling concerned about my safety.
Having enjoyed most of Dubai’s attractions, I am excited to share my curated list of the best things to do in the city.
Before diving into the list, here’s a quick savings tip: Dubai has an efficient rapid transit rail network, the Dubai Metro, that makes commuting to major tourist spots very easy and reliable. Use the metro services to save both your time and money.
1. Hit Up The Impressive Burj Khalifa

This is the first attraction that will catch your eye in Dubai. Standing at a height of 829.8 meters (2722 feet), Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the World. This iconic structure has Observation Decks at the 124th and 148th floors, showcasing incredible panoramic views of the city.
The glass walls at these observation decks allow you to take a fascinating, picturesque tour of Dubai’s skyline. Sunset is the most worthy time to catch glimpses of the amazing, illuminating transition of Dubai from the Burj Khalifa. Visiting Burj Khalifa should be at the top of your Dubai itinerary.
So here are a few things that I recommend:
- To avoid the long waiting queues, make sure you purchase the tickets for the observation deck ‘At the top‘ in advance. If purchased from the ticket counter for the same day visiting, the tickets may get expensive or the slots will get filled.
- Get an access to the 124th, 125th and 148th floors featuring an outdoor terrace, luxury lounges and get served with Arabic Coffee and Dates by booking your tickets here.
- If you fantasize a special dine featuring Dubai’s amazing views and the mesmerizing Fountains at the 124th level of Burj Khalifa, make your reservations here.

I live in Dubai and I see you’ve pretty much covered the main stuff to do and see here. I am a little surprised to see Hub Zero on the list though, not a lot of people know about it or visit it! It’s pretty awesome for teenagers and kids, you could also include the various themeparks and waterparks as family activities to do here 🙂 I particularly love Dubai Parks and Resorts as well as Wild Wadi Waterpark. You did mention Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis which also is pretty cool!
This is an incredibly useful post, I’m just about to start planning a trip to Dubai so I have pinned this post to help me plan. I was particularly interested in finding our about the restaurant that is surrounded by an aquarium! Will have to do more research on that now. There were several places on your list I’d like to visit and the info about opening times and transport links is extremely helpful.
Omg if only Dubai is so near in the Philippines and the airfare is cheaper then definitely I will visit this city. No doubt this is one of the gems in the Middle East.
I need to find sponsorships for Dubai trip 🙂
The architecture of some of the buildings in Dubai is simply amazing! I would love to visit someday and this list provides a great overview of places i should visit while there. I’ve always wanted to go on a desert safari and didn’t know you could go on one in Dubai. Very cool.
I have always wanted to visit Dubai! This list has made me want to visit even more. The Dubai fountain looks gorgeous, and I would definitely want to take the 30 minute Abra ride! I would also love the desert safari. It all looks beautiful.
I only visited Dubai on a business trip and one of the things I enjoy the most on business trips to Dubai is the culture difference. It truly feels like you enter a different world, it was like something I haven’t seen before. I was fascinated by this idea of a huge city in the middle of the desert. Thank you for sharing this article, I think anyone should read it before visiting Dubai.
I love that you listed the Atlantis hotel in your things of must sees! It’s not very often you see hotels as a tourist sites (outside of Vegas that is). I think the hotel is immensely beautiful and definitely deserves a stop, if not your stay, when visiting Dubai!
Amazing travel guide. You worked so hard in putting all the details from open times, location among others. I know how handy it is to have such information while deciding where we should go on a short trip. all your pictures are amazing. Really want to see the Burj Khalifa one day. The Dubai creek looks stunning
Thank you so much for the appreciation.
This post has made me nostalgic about Dubai. While I like the Bur Dubai which captures its past, I am also quite fond of its Metro system, beautiful architectures, the fountain at Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. I like the indomitable spirit of the Emirate to keep coming up with something big, large or spectacular.
