1. Share a special meal at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant

If you’re searching for the perfect date night destination in Frankenmuth, I highly recommend planning a lovely candlelit dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.

When my husband and I visited, the cozy ambiance and warm lighting immediately set the mood for a romantic evening. We enjoyed exploring the local delicacies together, especially the famous chicken, a must-try loved by both locals and tourists.

The restaurant also offers a premium wine tasting experience, making it even more special for couples. We made a reservation in advance, which allowed us to relax and truly savor the moment.

For an unforgettable romantic getaway, consider a staycation at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Staying amongst the charming Bavarian-themed layout felt like we were transported to a different world.

Our time at the lodge was filled with laughter, relaxation, and wonderful memories. Whether you’re planning a special dinner or a weekend escape, Frankenmuth delivers the perfect setting for romance.

2. Plan a meet at the Covered Bridge

Let me tell you, this isn’t your typical rom-com-style Brooklyn Bridge scene. The Holz Brücke Bridge in Frankenmuth is far more picturesque and has a special story of its own.

Built with dedication and love by the Zehnder family, this charming covered bridge stretches across the Cass River, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

When my husband and I strolled across the Holz Brücke Bridge, it felt like stepping into a postcard. We couldn’t resist snapping a ton of Insta-worthy photos as the scenery changed with the light. But what truly made it magical was pausing together on the bridge to watch the sunset.

The golden hues reflecting on the river, the soft breeze, and the quiet moments shared made it one of the most romantic experiences we’ve had in Frankenmuth. If you’re planning a couple’s getaway, don’t miss this enchanting spot. It’s perfect for making lasting memories together.

3. Enjoy a thrilling time at the Aerial Park

Frankenmuth’s Aerial Park is the perfect spot for couples who crave a little adventurous excitement together. Don’t worry, nothing here is truly dangerous, but it’s packed with activities that give you a real adrenaline rush.

What I loved most was being surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery, breathing in fresh forest air as we tackled the different challenges side by side.

We tried everything from ziplining to rope climbing, laughing and cheering each other on the whole way. The park has trained instructors who made us feel completely safe while ensuring we had maximum fun.

Whether you’re an adventurous couple or just want to try something new together, Aerial Park is a fantastic way to make unforgettable memories in Frankenmuth.

4. Spend a Christmas eve at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland

One of my favorite parts about visiting Frankenmuth with my husband was discovering that you can indulge in the joy of Christmas any time of year. Yes, really, Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland makes it possible! This magical shop isn’t just open during the holiday season; it’s the world’s largest Christmas store, and it welcomes guests every single day.

Walking into Bronner’s with my partner, we were instantly transported into a festive wonderland. The giant Christmas tree in the center, sparkling lights, and endless rows of ornaments and gifts made us feel like kids again.

We wandered the aisles, picking out unique decorations and little treasures for our family and friends, laughing and reminiscing about our favorite Christmas memories together.

Honestly, it’s impossible not to feel the spirit of the holidays at Bronner’s. Even if it’s the middle of summer, the shop’s magical atmosphere sweeps you both into a world of joy and nostalgia, a truly unique and fun experience for couples in Frankenmuth.

5. Plan a picnic at Heritage Park

If you’ve ever dreamed of lounging under a shady tree with a bottle of fine wine, surrounded by lush meadows, this is the place to make it a reality. The entire park feels like the backdrop of a movie; everywhere you look, there are green trees, inviting benches, a gentle river stream on one side, and the serene view of the forest on the other bank.

We found a quiet spot, spread out our picnic blanket, and just soaked in the tranquil beauty around us. It was the perfect setting to unwind, share stories, and simply enjoy each other’s company in nature.

If you and your partner love spending calm, quality time together outdoors, Heritage Park is an absolute must for your Frankenmuth itinerary.

6. Have a Beer Tasting Session at Frankenmuth Brewery

One of the highlights of our romantic getaway in Frankenmuth was visiting the 150-year-old Frankenmuth Brewery. Stepping into this historic, family-run brewery felt like being part of a story that’s been brewing (pun intended) for generations.

While the brewery offers fascinating tours for groups, we especially loved relaxing in their cozy lounge area. It was the perfect spot to unwind together, sipping mega-pints of beer, sharing laughs, and letting the evening drift by.

If you and your partner enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with a touch of history and plenty of local flavor, the Frankenmuth Brewery is a must-visit for your romantic itinerary.

7. A Wine Session at the Julian Winery

No romantic getaway is truly complete without a little wine, and in Frankenmuth, you’re spoiled for choice. My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a wine-filled date, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We started at the famous Julian Winery, which boasts wines from some of the best local harvests. We got to see firsthand how the wine is made and witnessed a fascinating process that made us appreciate each glass even more.

We didn’t stop there. Prost Wine Bar and Modern Craft Wine also offered unique atmospheres and incredible selections. Whether you want to enjoy a cozy wine date or simply pick up a few bottles to take home, Frankenmuth’s wine spots make it easy to indulge.

Each location had its own charm, but what made the experience truly special was sharing it all with my partner and creating new memories together over a glass of the region’s finest.

8. Live that Rom-Com ending on the Horse Carriage

If you’ve ever dreamed of living out that classic 90s romantic comedy moment. The one where the couple rides away in a horse-drawn carriage as the credits roll, Frankenmuth is the place to make it a reality. My husband and I couldn’t resist booking an evening ride with the Frankenmuth Carriage Company, and it truly felt like stepping into a fairy tale.

As the horses trotted along the cobbled, lamp-lit streets, we snuggled under a blanket and took in the charming sights and sounds of the city. The gentle rhythm of the hooves and the twinkle of the streetlights set the perfect mood. It was pure magic and the absolute cherry on top of our romantic getaway.

Ending your date night with a carriage ride isn’t just picture-perfect. It’s one of the most enchanting ways to experience Frankenmuth with your partner.

9. Have a splashing time at a Waterpark

Let me start with one of the most fun places my husband and I found in Frankenmuth, Zehnder’s Waterpark, or as we liked to call it, the ultimate water splash village! Just a 15-minute walk from Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel, it made for the perfect morning adventure.

We even stopped by a cozy restaurant along the way, grabbing a quick bite before diving into all the excitement.

The waterpark is packed with fun rides, some in shaded areas and others out in the open. We loved having the option to bask in the sun together or cool off in the shade. From thrilling water slides to relaxing pools, every part of the park had something to offer.

My favorite part was exploring every single ride with my partner. We laughed so much and made memories that we still talk about.

Since the park opens at 11 am, we enjoyed a leisurely morning before heading out, making the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. If you’re looking to add a splash of fun to your romantic getaway, Zehnder’s Waterpark is an absolute must!

10. Practice Golfing Together

In Frankenmuth, we found the perfect opportunity for this at The Fortress Golf Course. This lush, natural green stretches over 6,800 yards and features 18 beautifully maintained holes, plenty of space for a playful match or a relaxing round together.

The staff at The Fortress were incredibly accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We decided to challenge each other to a friendly game, and the experience was both exciting and lighthearted.

Whether you choose to go head-to-head with your partner or join forces against other players, you’re bound to have a wonderful time here.

With so many romantic things to do in Frankenmuth for couples, I can confidently say this city is an ideal destination for a couples’ getaway in Michigan.
