11 Best Luxury Desert Camps in Jaisalmer for Luxury Glamping

Staying at least one night in a desert camp in Jaisalmer is a pinch-me moment. I stayed for two nights in a luxury camp, and it was the best moment of my Jaisalmer trip.

You can get camping experience in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kutch, and even in hill stations, and national parks now, but when you talk about Glamping or Luxury camping experience, Jaisalmer is way ahead.

However, when I was trying to find a desert camp for myself, I could barely see any information and was lost in the never-ending list of camps.

So, I have created a list of the 11 best luxury desert camps in Jaisalmer so that you can easily find one that suits you.

There is no better camp than Sujan The Serai Camp in Jaisalmer. It is my personal recommendation and my favorite stay in India. Everything about this glamping spot is simply perfect.

The location of the camp is around 50-60 km from Jaisalmer city (east), towards Jodhpur and they have amenities like a pool, spa with highly trained therapists, wonderful multi-cuisine restaurant, drinks, etc.

The tents are super comfortable and spacious. The safari to the dunes, sundowner drinks at sunset, and the under-the-stars experience were my favorite highlights.

In the evenings there is also an entertainment show by live performers including local dancers and singers.

Le Royal Camps at Sam offer the full comfort of luxury Swiss tents and adventure activities. The best thing about Le Royal Camps is that it is just 3 km from Desert National Park.

There is a stunning outdoor temperature control swimming pool to cool off with a good sitting area and high-quality maintenance.

Its luxurious amenities + its location in the Thar desert have it placed on my bucket list for next time for sure!

Le Royal Camps arrange for desert activities like camel safari, jeep safari, village tour, Rajasthani cuisine, folk dance and music, and many other outdoor activities.

3. The Mama’s Resort & Camp, Khuri

Mama’s Resort & Camp is at Khuri and guests can experience the thrill of camping in the wilderness of Thar Desert with the luxury stay at Swiss desert camps.

At Mama’s Resort & Camp, guests get a full range of modern amenities inside their Swiss cottages. Super Deluxe Cottage is styled with Rajasthani-style architecture.

Mama’s Resort & Camp organizes many activities for guests in the desert. Guests are welcomed in traditional Rajasthani style which makes them feel special and honored.

There is a central dining area, where guests can sit under the starlit night sky, and dine on many kinds of food dishes.

The campfire is lit every night and Rajasthani folk musicians and tribal artists perform cultural dance programs. Camel rides, jeep safari, and indoor games are organized for guests.

4. Country Side Resort, Near Jaisalmer City

Families looking for a desert adventure in Jaisalmer can stay in overnight camps at Country Side Resort in the Sam Dunes area. There are Swiss Tents and Deluxe Tents which are right in the middle of the vast Thar Desert in Sam.

From every tent, guests can view the Thar desert dunes and do many famous adventure activities like going on jeep safari and camel rides.

Plus, Country Side Resort organizes campfires at night and cultural programs. Rajasthani tribes perform Ghoomar dance show and fire dance. At Country Side Resort, guests can have lip-smacking Rajasthani food, and enjoy outdoor activities like playing badminton, and cricket.

There is a swimming pool area also, and guests can sit by the swimming pool and have dinner. Guests can also have meals in specially made arrangements in the middle of the desert.

The below desert camps are semi-luxurious, well-equipped with star-rated facilities, and comfortable. These desert camps are located in and around Jaisalmer.

5. Samsara Desert Camp, Dechu

Dechu is a dune area near Jodhpur and the main feature of the dunes here is that there is greenery and sands both together. Samsara Desert Camp offers the complete luxury of a resort stay plus the thrill of desert camping near Jodhpur.

The resort at Samsara Desert Camp has a swimming pool, herbal spa, and conferencing facilities for guests. The resort has garden villas, dunes villas, and tented suites, with private gardens and splash pools.

Guests can dine on multi-cuisine varieties near the pool, verandah, and in the dunes. There is an herbal spa, natural spa, Ayurvedic, and Aromatherapy for guests.

Samsara Desert Camp has 21 Swiss camps with traditional Rajasthani décor. Each Swiss tent has an attached bathroom and other luxurious amenities. The campsite has dining facilities and a mobile camp where you will feel the thrill of camping in the middle of the Thar Desert.

Samsara Desert Camp at Dechu takes guests on guided and organized tours in Khichan Bird Sanctuary, Osian Temple, camel safari, and jeep safari. Guests can see the desert life of Rajasthani tribes and interact with them to learn more about the desert lifestyle.

Manvar Resort & Desert Camp is near Jodhpur and it has a resort and desert camp for guests. The resort has 21 cottages that are styled in traditional bhunga style huts with thatched roof. The ambience is made to look like a traditional Rajasthani village where cottages are set in the midst of lush green ponds, gardens and pathways to roam about the property.

The cottages have traditional furniture and are made to look as authentic as possible. From carpets to lounge chairs to walls, every part of the cottage is made of RajasthanI handicraft and handmade art. Amenities include swimming pool, restaurant, bar with grounds for playing games.

Manvar Desert Camp has 30 safari style tents with teakwood furniture, rugs, beds, and furniture. A big courtyard serves as a dining hall. Every tent gives a beautiful view of the surrounding desert. Each tent has a verandah, bedroom and bathroom.

Luxury Tented Camp is for those who want more privacy and luxury. There are 10 luxury tented camps with air conditioning, an open-air area, and attached bathroom. Guests can have a swim in the swimming pool and infinity pool and enjoy spa the facility.

Guests at Manvar Resort and Desert Camp can enjoy camel rides in the desert, jeep safari and interact with local artisans and tribes like Bishnois, Rajputs, and learn about their handicrafts.

Winds Desert Camp is near Jaisalmer, and here there are 25 luxurious camps with modern amenities. Each camp is furnished with traditional Rajasthani décor and art. There are attached bathrooms, traditional furniture, and beds.

A restaurant serves delicious Rajasthani cuisine and guests can do many activities like desert safari tours of the desert near Jaisalmer.

Guests can enjoy evening cultural dance performances and fireside dinners under a starry night sky.

8. Jain Empire Resort, Sam

Jain Empire Resort is close to Sam sand dunes and here there are 32 Swiss Maharaja Tents with all modern facilities.

Every tent has an attached bathroom with toiletries, queen sized bed, dining tables, and chairs, and ceiling fans. Guests are welcomed with a traditional tikka ceremony and a welcome drink. In the evening there is a cultural dance and music show by Rajasthani tribal people and a buffet dinner.

The main attraction of their campsite is that they have only a Pure Veg restaurant in the Sam Dune area, where you can also ask the chef to prepare Jain food.

Guests can enjoy desert safari tours, camel and jeep safaris, and Jaisalmer city sightseeing tours.

9. Damodra Desert Camp, Sam Damodra

On the way to Sam from Jaisalmer, Damodra Desert Camp is a desert campsite with 10 deluxe Swiss camps. Each Swiss tent has a queen-sized bed, bathroom with hot and cold running water, Ayurvedic toiletries, lounge area, fans, air conditioning, and heater.

The dining area is also fully A/C and in the evening guests can enjoy looking at the stars and do some stargazing. Kalbeliyas and other tribal dancers of Rajasthan perform cultural shows in the evening, and guests can order light snacks or Rajasthani food.

Camps that are not luxury camps, but still, you can book them on busy season dates in Jaisalmer, which are Diwali week, and winter holiday or Christmas to New Year week.

10. Dangri Desert Safari Camp, Lakhmana Road (Sam)

Dangri Desert Camp is a desert campsite located on the road from Jaisalmer to Sam. It has 45 luxury tents equipped with modern facilities and Rajasthani décor. Each tent comes with an attached bathroom, chairs, dining tables, air conditioning, and luxury linens.

Their tour package includes pickup and drop from Jaisalmer, local transport in cars, stay in desert camps, and sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer, desert safari, and outdoor activities.

11. Joggan Jaisalmer Camp, Lakhmana Road (Sam)

Joggan Jaisalmer Camp is a new camp, in comparison to the above camps, which comes on the road to Sam from Jaisalmer.

It provides luxury desert-tented accommodation to guests with a variety of desert activities & has luxury villas, royal luxury tents, and non-AC luxury tents, each with an attached bathroom and toiletries, wardrobe, room service, and complimentary breakfast.

Interiors are adorned with rich Rajasthani décor, chairs, rugs, ample seating, and King-sized beds with comfortable blankets and linens.

It offers a variety of packages which includes Jaisalmer sightseeing and desert safari activities. Guests can have the pleasure, relaxation, and thrill when they tour Jaisalmer.

They can do thrilling activities like dune bashing, quad biking, camel safari, and cultural walking tours of Jaisalmer. For even more relaxation guests can have a spa at their camps. Meals are served in traditional Rajasthani style and there are cultural dance programs with a campfire.
